Oceana County Medical Care Facility

In the fall of 2003, Muskegon Construction Company was selected and began work on the County of Oceana's Medical Care Facility. This $5.5 million project is being done in two phases. Phase I has been completed and includes construction of a new Day Room and temporary visitor's entrance. All the remaining work is Phase II and it includes renovating the existing facility with a new HVAC system, fire alarm, and fire sprinkler protection systems (in some areas). Also, two additions to the existing facility are being constructed. One is a single-story, 19,000 s.f. Alzheimer's Patient Wing, with 17 new resident rooms, dining and lounge facilities, and nurse support facilities. This wing will have a 'residential' decor. The second addition is a two-story building with a partial basement. This will be for the new administrative offices, new physical therapy area (including a therapy pool), upper level conference/training rooms, locker rooms, and maintenance expansion. There will also be additional parking and entrance drives constructed. The owner will maintain full occupancy during the renovations.
