MichCon Operation Center
A 1994 Michigan AIA award-winner
for its architectural design, this 24,000-square-foot facility
for MichCon is a prototype of
future buildings for the utility. Set on a heavily wooded 5.8–acre
industrial park site, two buildings replaced a group of 60-year-old
buildings in Muskegon’s central business district.

• Five-stall vehicle service area with four hydraulic hoists
• Complete parts warehouse and modern shower and locker room facilities
for field employees
• Consistent and economical building materials were utilized on the
second building,
which houses a shop, material storage and a state-of-the-art
fueling station.
