Fruitport Schools

The first phase of summer work has been completed for Fruitport Community Schools. On September 15, 2003 the voters in the Fruitport School District approved an $8.4 million millage request for improvements to all the buildings in the district. This is the second project Muskegon Construction Company has done for the valued client having previously done their 1997 bond project. Approximately $5.5 million of the money raised will go into construction and the remainder into technology up-grades, buses and other equipment. Approximately $2.6 million worth of work was completed in the summer 2004 including mechanical up-grades, new boilers, improved lighting, new flooring and entrances at several district schools. It also included lighting at the soccer field and improved lighting of the football stadium, as well as a concession building and press box at the baseball diamond. The remainder of the work is scheduled for completion next summer.
